The EU Commission in January 2000 moved to require that food companies provide labels on food if any ingredient contains more than 1% GM ingredients.
Plan
You may need to:
- Establish clear documentation all along the supply chain.
- Clean and inspect equipment at every stage, including farm machinery, transport and food manufacturing production lines.
- Test product for Genetic Modification e.g IndentiGEN (look for GMO testing).
- Establish audit trails.
- Ensure segregation of GM and non-GM commodities.
