Funding of Horticultural Research

Warwick University was 'gifted' state owned land and facilities at Wellesbourne and Kirton (Lincs) - value £30-35m.

University has already sold the land at Kirton (altho' not buildings because of problems re planning)

But money hasn't been used to support Wellesbourne in return for taking on staff and pension liabilities

Most of pension liability was taken care of by a bulk transfer from gov JSS scheme to USS scheme

University is really reneging on its part of the bargain to maintain the research capability and facilities at Wellesbourne in return for the assets.
